Working for the company I work for in Nashville, it is always a great opportunity to get to see the shows around town. I get to see experience live music, hang with my co- workers, and enjoy a great concert atmosphere. The Gunna show in Nashville at the Municipal Auditorium was an incredible opportunity to experience all of that.

Many are familiar with Gunna because of his connection to the YSL trial. I, however, have been a fan since 2016, and being from Atlanta, couldn't pass up an opportunity to see a hometown favorite. I have seen Future, Lil Baby, and Young Thug all before, but Gunna was the last of the "SLATT" era of Atlanta rap that I really had to see. Unfortunately, I missed the opener, Flo Milli. However, I showed up just in time to hear some instant classics from a fresh and rejuvenated Gunna.

To start, my biggest take away was the show production that Gunna and his team had put into this show. He has a giant LED screen that changed between different scenic, moving fews such as the jungle or the desert, as well as cold climate locations for songs like "Ski". gunna also had what appeared to be a giant marvel head laying on its side like a broken bust. He would stand on certain parts of the statue and used it as a platform to change up his stage positioning. Secondly, Gunna's production included a few other small details such as a microphone that fell from the ceiling of the stage, which is a big thing in Rap Culture. He also had a short video, about three minutes long, play during his set which captured details and told a story of him living his highest of highs on top of the music industry, to being wrapped up in a RICO trial with his music associates and finally being released after his guilty plea, getting back on the grind of being a touring musician. The production value added so much to this show, and was really a key factor in my enjoyment of the show.

The music Gunna played was nothing but classics. He did have a few tracks from his new album thrown in the set, which admittedly I am not very familiar with. However, his addition of live drums and no really DJ on stage added so much value to the songs he played, which was roughly 43 songs on the set. My favorite songs to hear were "Top Off", "Hot", my favorite Gunna song, "South To West", "Drip Too Hard", and so many others. His set included original songs from his own catalog, and a ton of songs that he had featured on, many of which were Young Thug tracks.

Overall, I think it was great to see Gunna come back as a really powerful artist on stage after everything he has been through with the law. Whether you like him or not, or agree with certain aspects of his relationship with Young Thug and the YSL Trial, for him to make that sort of comeback and take his career seriously as a performer is very inspiring. Not many people that deep in the music scene, especially with social media, could pull off the comeback that he is having. I would love to see Gunna again and would highly recommend people to see him on his tour, and any future upcoming shows.
